Meet the Chef
About Heather….

My Why
I am a wife, mom, culinary educator and small business owner;
so I understand what it means to be busy. As a mom of three
boys I strive to bring our family together with yummy, healthy
food. This is often a struggle because of the allergies in our
family, my spouse is allergic to tree nuts and strawberries, my
middle son is allergic to egg and very sensitive to wheat, and
the youngest son is allergic to egg and dairy. If you struggle with food allergies or sensitivities, I understand. I deal with it on a daily basis in my home. Even as a Chef, I have struggled to find good, easy ways to feed my family, this is what drives me to want to make food easy for your family. Things I love about food are: Cheese, Bread, Coffee, Local ingredients/food…sharing new food experiences with friends, family, and clients.

Culinary Background
Born and raised in the suburbs north of Detroit, MI, where I fell in love with food at an early age while in the kitchen with my mom and grandma. My love and knowledge of food
has grown over the last 40 years, while living in Michigan, California, and Ohio. I attended Michigan State University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. This is where I was first exposed to food that was outside my comfort zone. I went on to work in hotels and at the end of a stressful day I always found myself in the kitchen. I realized one day I did not know all that I wanted to about cooking so I returned to school and earned my Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Michigan. Since culinary school I have worked for AVI FoodService, Homemade Lunch Service, Slow’s To Go, Medilodge of Rochester Hills, Olga’s Kitchen, Panera Bread and Dorsey College Culinary Academy. I am ServSafe certified and hold the Foodservice Management Professional (FMP) Certification from the National Restaurant Association. Let me save you time and make food convenient by watching our Instagram account for weekly menus.
